So Osama bin Laden did not go down in a blaze of glory, firing an AK-47 at the attacking Navy SEALs.

White House Press Secretary Jay Carney said Tuesday that bin Laden was not armed when he was shot and killed in the assault Sunday on his million-dollar compound in Pakisan.

The White House has said that bin Laden “resisted” the assault, but Carney said “I think resistance does not require a firearm.”

On Monday, John Brennan, President Barack Obama’s counterterrorism adviser, said bin Laden had a weapon when he was killed.
