In sunny San Diego, a chance to “cool off” is always welcome and that is just what Paramount+ provided to San Diego Comic Con attendees this year at their appropriately titled “The Lodge” offsite. Designed as a one-stop shop for visitors to interact with the streamer’s shows, this expansive setup provided snacks, drinks, and activities guaranteed to thrill any television fan.

Upon entry, anyone lucky enough to reserve a time slot was provided with a “lift pass” plus two drink tickets and a Good Burger 2 slider ticket. Once inside the experience, the adventure began. The main room of the “lodge” included a Spongebob Squarepants photo op as well as a Transformers: Rise of the Beasts bar and Special Ops: Lioness puzzles.

As a lifelong fan of Spongebob Squarepants, I loved the opportunity to have a quick visit to the Krusty Krab with some of the residents of Bikini Bottom. A wonderful employee stood nearby to take photos with your personal device and on a polaroid camera, which made for a wonderful souvenir.

After exploring the outside, I ventured indoors, where I relinquished my drink tickets for the aptly named and very delicious 1923 cocktail, which included bourbon, lemon, and orange-vanilla simple syrup. For those not looking to imbibe, mocktails, iced tea, and seltzers were all available as well.

As I enjoyed my beverage, I watched as many fellow participants receiving airbrushed tattoos at the Ink Masters station, where various colors and designs were available to choose from.

Additional experiences at The Lodge included a Pet Sematary: Bloodlines photo op and Star Trek caricatures.

I loved the sheer quantity of represented properties and the variety of options available to each guest through this experience. There truly was something for everyone and I hope that Paramount+ returns with a similar offsite at next year’s Comic Con!
