Actor Jean-Claude Van Damme has suffered a minor heart attack on the New Orleans set of his action film “Weapon”.
The actor, who just turned 50 on Monday, was briefly hospitalized. But, “He is okay,” his representatives told MTV News.
The film was in production in Romania before moving to New Orleans to film for three days. And, for now the shoot has been put on hold and Van Damme has returned to his home in Belgium to recover.
Van Damme plays an assassin forced to work with a rival to bring down a drug cartel in the movie, which is tentatively slated to be released in 2011.
