SEGA today announced “Valkyria Chronicles II,” a sequel to the PS3-exclusive original, but this time the exclusivity lies in Sony’s portable, the PSP.

It sounds like the sequel will be as epic as the first, what with a game description like this, it clearly has deep ambitions.

“What was once a small but strong unified country is instantly plunged back onto the battlefield. But the day and age of the last war’s heros is already fading out – with families to protect and children to raise, they are the ones who must now be protected. While numbers split and tensions rise, the spotlight shines to a handful of up-and-coming students at a Gallian Military Academy.”

SEGA promises that the team behind the PS3 original is working on the “Chronicles II” for PSP and that you’ll be playing the project in the “Summer 2010” season.

But if that’s not enough for you, follow the game on Facebook and Twitter for up to the second updates, and watch this debut trailer below.
