WORCESTER — October 15 marked the day that legendary rock band Pearl Jam released their tenth studio album, Lightning Bolt. The day also marked the first of two days they played at the DCU Center.

With no opening act, Pearl Jam kicked off their night with a 20 song set. Weaving their new songs (“Lightning Bolt” was played 4th) with a variety of old favorites (“Even Flow,” “Corduroy”), the initial twenty songs were just the start of the night. The band came back for an encore, where they played acoustic for a handful of songs. These included “Man of the Hour,” “Yellow Moon,” “Fatal,” and more, putting their song total at 27. That still wasn’t all the band had for the sold out crowd They returned for a second encore, kicking it off with their famous cover of Wayne Cochran’s “Our Last Kiss.” Vocalist Eddie Vedder put his all into the second encore, going from distributing drinks to audience members to swinging from the band’s hanging lights they brought along as part of their impressive stage setup. “Alive” and “Indifference” were also included in the second encore, before they wrapped up their set at nearly midnight.

The Lightning Bolt Tour is still going on throughout the US, and the band changes their setlist every evening. Beyond that, Pearl Jam puts on a show to be remembered, so make sure to check them out if you can. Enjoy our photos from the show!

Juandos,The Reid's opt-out clause reminds me of the Anglican Church's introduction of The Book of Alternative Services. Please note that this book was used to mandatorily replace the Book of Common Prayer. . My, there is a powerful smell of mendacity coming from the direction of Washington these days.

My nominations for the fan club name are Gunnigans, Celtic Gunns, and Harp Hounds.Has anybody pointed out that Gunningans sound similar to Gilligan’s as in Gilligan’s Island? Thanks for the great podcasts , including the Renaissance Festival and the Irish and Celtic podcasts.Steven

Oh, The Fairy Hobmother, what a ray of sunshine in this dull world. I did ask him on twitter for a new pair of feet, but apparently he couldn’t help. I’m assuming the same applies to a butler or an extra 2 hours a day. With a 2 yr old & another due in May I could do with all of that.OH & I also noticed that last time we were expecting Grandparents were falling over themselves to kit us out with baby stuff. This time we’ve heard nothing.I’d love something just for me, but NO chocolate. Have given it up for lent and I’m close to caving in.

We were going to deep fry our turkey this year, but the city discouraged it! Something about the fact that we will in wild fire country! 🙂 Your turkey looks gorgeous and i'm sure tastes just a good!!
