If some is good, more is often better, at least THQ thinks so.

The company, in a conference call today, laid out its plans for 2011 and among the financial mumbo-jumbo, CEO Brian Farrell said a sequel to 2009’s Red Planet third-person-shooter Red Faction: Guerilla will be shown at E3 this June and will release in April, 2011.
“In fiscal 2011, we plan to ship two major core games. Homefront and a sequel to our Red Faction franchise,” Farrell said during the call.

“Homefront, a first-person shooter, made a strong debut at E3 last spring. The game’s compelling storyline, coupled with its ground-breaking multiplayer capabilities, are two reasons we believe this game will become a new hit franchise for THQ.”

“We also plan to launch a high-quality sequel to Red Faction in fiscal 2011. Building on their innovative destruction engine, our team at Volition is delivering a quality sequel in the Red Faction universe that will include robust online gameplay,” he added.
“We look forward to showing you why we’re excited about these games at E3 this June.”

There we have it. A sequel to one of the best-kept secrets of 2009, will be shown at E3. I’ll have my hands all over it. E3 news in February? I like it.

Im excited for the Red Faction 2, i really like the first game. Though it died and not many people played after a few months. I believe this is because of poor advertisement. If this game gets nearly as much advertisement as Call of duty or even the new AvP game. This game will explode if you just get it the peoples heads. Get this game ramped up and make it amazing.

Red Faction is an amazing game that allowed me to say “hey, the guy at that gas station riped me off, I think I will destroy it with some high exploseves, or hey, that EDF officer just flipped me off and ran into that base I think I will use that mining walker to crush him and his base,” and actualy do it.

I loved the first one i hope the second one is even better but im with Jake, it needs more advertisement. I hope mainly that you play with the same players but you play as a new person.I hope the destruction in this game is out of controll! I think the campaign can be more in debt and longer. They should have tratiors in the planets rebellion force. Cant wait!!! ๐Ÿ™‚
