Developer NVYVE Studios has released an Alpha gameplay trailer for their new survival horror video game “P.A.M.E.L.A.”

Set in a Utopian society sometime in the future, you are awakened from cryo-sleep into a quarantined residential complex infested with some less than friendly infected residents. Your only companion is the titular AI that will aid you in your quest find out what happened to the denizens of this broken society.

The game borrows elements from procedurally generated survival horror games like “The Forrest” and “The Long Dark” but places them in a convincing futuristic setting. Furthermore, the gameplay trailer shows the player building a base indoors, hinting at the possibility that you might never be able to explore the outside world. This intriguing twist could set “P.A.M.E.L.A.” apart from most games of its ilk, bringing in some terrifying memories of “Bioshock” into the mix.

Not to mention, the first person inventory system seems genuinely cool and the trailer does show some competent combat against the infected, another unique feature of this game.

“P.A.M.E.L.A.” is set to release later this year on Steam.
