Songs from singer-songwriter Darden Smith’s Soldier Songwriting Project will be performed at the Faces of Freedom concert in Colorado on September 11.
From July 28 through August 1 professional songwriters Radney Foster and Jay Clementi joined Smith in helping soldiers write their songs. Ten people from the U.S. Navy, U.S. Marines, U.S. Army and the U.S. Air Force participated in the retreat.
Six of the songs were then recorded in Nashville, including “God Challenged Me” and “Hell On My Heart,” and will be available on iTunes.
The Faces of Freedom concert will be held in the World Arena in Colorado Springs. Smith, Foster and Clementi will perform the songs.
