Glenn Close will star in the upcoming film “Albert Nobbs,” which is scheduled to release this fall.

In the film she plays the role of Albert Nobbs, an older man trying to find work in Dublin in the 19th century.

The film is based on the book “The Singular Life of Albert Nobbs” by George Moore and in 1982 Close won an Obie Award playing the role of Albert Nobbs in an Off Broadway interpretation of the novel.

Rodrigo Garacia (“Mother and Child”) will direct the film written by Gabriella Prekop, John Banville and Glenn Close. This is Close’s first screenplay credit and her first credit as producer of a feature film.
