If you want the full virtual reality experience Resident Evil VII will offer this January, you are going to have to invest in PlayStation VR.

A post on PlayStation Europe’s Facebook page teases several games coming to the new visual peripheral. When the screen for Resident Evil VII shows up, the fine print reads that it will be a “12 month exclusive” for PlayStation VR. Polygon confirmed the news with publisher Capcom, that said that the only way to experience Resident Evil VII with VR on launch day would be with PlayStation.

This means that owners of the HTC Vive or Occulus Rift will be left out of luck for an entire year come Resident Evil’s launch next January. The ad also said that Batman Arkham VR, a short game focused on becoming the Dark Knight, would also be exclusive to PlayStation VR until March 31, 2017. Batman VR is scheduled to launch on Oct. 13 alongside Sony’s new peripheral.

PlayStation VR looks to bookend the year of mass market virtual reality, and it packs an intriguing launch lineup. These timed exclusives will certainly provide some healthy competition to its PC counterparts and hopefully usher in development for triple-a VR experiences. PlayStation VR launches on Oct. 13 and retails for $399.
