Republican Frank Guinta won the New Hampshire First District Congressional race, unseating Democrat Carol Shea-Porter by a wide margin.

Former New Hampshire Governor and Republican State Committee Chairman John H. Sununu said the following:

“I want to congratulate Congressman-Elect Frank Guinta on his victory in the First Congressional District race. Frank will take his fiscally conservative values to Washington and lead the fight to cut spending and lower taxes. In Congress, he will champion responsible policies that will reduce the deficit, create jobs, grow our economy. Frank will make an excellent Congressman and he will be a strong voice for New Hampshire taxpayers in Washington.”

With two-thirds of precincts reporting, Guinta held a 15-point margin over the incumbent.
