IGN caused a stir this week when it reported that the website for European retailer Tesco had a listing on its website for Call of Duty: Ghosts, an as of yet unofficial game from Activision’s huge shooter series. The listing, which has since been taken down featured a December 2013 release date, likely a placeholder, but since nearly all of the recent Call of Duty entries have released in November, it’s a safe bet that should Ghosts be real, it’s coming out in time for the Christmas shopping season.
The supposed leaked box art for the game features Ghost from the popular Modern Warfare storyline, and given the pattern of recent years, a return to the Modern Warfare Universe would be this year –with Activision switching off on the Black Ops and Modern Warfare games each year.
We’ve contacted Activison for clarification on the rumor, and will update if we hear anything back. Expect a reveal at this year’s E3 if anything.
