A year and two months after their marriage in India, Russell Brand filed for divorce from Katy Perry on Friday, the day before New Year’s Eve.
Brand cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for the divorce, but rumors claim that Perry’s party lifestyle had a hand in the decision. Coincidentally, Perry was spotted partying on New Year’s Eve in West Hollywood, reportedly looking unaffected by the earlier events. Meanwhile, Brand sulked in his hotel room in London.
Because the couple did not sign a pre-nup before their wedding, Russell will apparently most likely receive half of the couple’s earnings, resulting in a raise from his usual net worth.
