Android phone users rejoice. Netflix has announced that they have finally developed an app to stream movies via an Android phone.

Excited yet? All you need is the right Android as well as a subscription to Netflix. Already have an account? Then here are the phones that will be able to get the app as of now:

  • HTC Incredible with 2.2+
  • HTC Nexus One with 2.2+
  • HTC EVO 4G with 2.2+
  • HTC G2 with 2.2+
  • Samsung Nexus S with 2.3+

Netlix released this information via their blog today, and already you can hear Android users with the phones listed above dancing with joy over this news.

Here is what the blog has to report about the app:

“We are making the free app available for download from Android Market. The Market download will initially be available only on select phones that currently have the requisite playback support. We expect to quickly add to the number of phones that can download from Android Market as we work with ecosystem partners to expand playback support.”

Not only is it free, but the app will be rolling out soon for other devices, so not to worry if your phone is not listed above.
