Nintendo today pushed back release dates for hotly anticipated exclusive titles Sin and Punishment: Star Successor and Metroid: Other M, forcing a pain in the gut for Nintendo fans everywhere.

Not just yet.

Sin & Punishment has been pushed from June 7 to June 27.We can stomach that.

Here’s the bad news.

Metroid: Other M, likely the more exciting of the two, has slid all the way from June 27 to August 31. Ouch.

Nintendo provided no grounds for the delay in their press release but spoke with gaming blog Kotaku.

“The launch date for Metroid: Other M has shifted to Aug. 31. As you may know, this game is the product of a unique partnership between longtime Metroid producer Yoshio Sakamoto, Team Ninja and many other individuals and groups, all of whom have set very high standards for this latest installment in the series. Although it’s taking slightly longer than expected to complete the project, we’re confident that fans will find it to be well worth the wait.

“Video game development is a lengthy and complex process. We have always put the quality of our products first, and have historically taken the time needed to make our games meet the expectations of our fans.”

Delays are hard to take, but more polish on a product is always nice.

I don’t mind if they use the zero suit or not. If I can recall I notice that samus was wearing somthing different on both fusion and super metroid. It would make sense if samus was wearing a version of what she was wearing on the games that souround this other m in the metroid timeline. I really hope this story progress the series the same way fusion did. I would assume that in every mission she wears different clothen.
I would really like to see a 2d remake of Metroid II on the ds, a polished version of Super Metroid, and a game that finally takes place after Metroid fusion.
