The list of heavy hitting and exciting titles set to release this summer continues to grow today with Rock Band Unplugged, the PSP version of the immensely popular console iteration, receiving a rigid release date coinciding with Prototype on June 9th.

Instead of a guitar grip type controller that Vicarious Visions, developers of the Guitar Hero on Tour series developed for the Nintendo DS, Unplugged will make use the directional pad of the PSP for rhythmic control of the various vocal, guitar, drum and bass tracks.

A partial track-list was released via GameStop earlier this month confirming over 40 master recordings ‚ and 4 PSP-specific tunes for the title and in case you forgot, those revealed were:

3 Doors Down – “Kryptonite”
AFI – “Miss Murder”
Alice in Chains – “Would?”
Audioslave – “Gasoline”
Black Tide – “Show Me the Way”
Blink 182 – “What’s My Age Again”
Freezepop – “Less Talk More Rokk”
Jackson 5 – “ABC”
Tenacious D – “Rock Your Socks”

Kotaku.com is reporting that Rock Band: Unplugged will debut at a price point of $39.99 on June 9th in North America and Europe with a limited edition bundle containing an Unplugged branded PSP, the Unplugged software, a download code for the film “School of Rock” via the PlayStation store and a 4GB memory stick.‚  The actual retail price is, wait for it, $199.99.‚  Year of the PSP?‚  This certainly helps.
