“Chuck” returned after a holiday break Monday to register a 2.1 demo rating and 5.8 million viewers, its highest demo point of the season. “The Cape” dropped precipitously from its last new episode, from a 2.6 demo to a 1.7 range. It’s not likely to see a second season with those numbers. “Harry’s Law” debuted to a 2.2 rating. That’s good for NBC, but does not bode well for a first episode.

“House” delivered a 3.6 demo rating, maintaining its relatively poor-performance this season (by its own standards). “Lie to Me” had a 1.8 demo rating. That’s better than last week’s rock bottom, but still not enough to earn a fourth season. The show has two episodes until its season, and more-than-likely series finale.

CBS won with its typical slate delivering strong points. The eye was the only network to average more than a 3.0 demo–it averaged a 3.5 last night.
