NEW YORK — This year was definitely one of the strongest in recent memory for the CMJ Music Marathon. As any music fan knows, one of the great joys in being passionate about this art form is the knowledge that some great new discovery could be just around the bend. This week epitomized that. Here, some final thoughts on the festival:

Best Acts: The Jezabels, Fences, Hypernova, Alcoholic Faith Mission

Worst Act: Miles Benjamin Anthony Robinson

Most Overrated: Francis and the Lights

Act that Most Resembled a Blog: The Pack AD (Lesbians Who Look Like Justin Bieber)

Most Strange: Gobble Gobble

Most Memorable: Big Freedia

Loudest/Most Ironic: Quiet Loudly

Best Showcases: The Planetary Group, Brooklyn Vegan

We’ve included a high-res photo gallery. Please be patient and allow them to load! Please DO NOT post the photos anywhere else.
