UPDATE JAN 9: TAYLOR IS BACK FOR NEW MOON!
According to Ryan Seacrest on his syndicated radio talk show, actor Taylor Lautner, who played the character Jacob in November’s hit “Twilight” and was expected to reprise the role in the saga’s later installments, will not return in the second film, “New Moon.”
Summit Entertainment, the studio behind the “Twilight” franchise, allegedly paid leading man Robert Pattinson too much money to keep him for the next three films and could not afford the rest of the cast, Seacrest said.
“Twilight” director Catherine Hardwicke was confirmed to not be returning for “New Moon” last week because she could not commit to the release schedule Summit wanted for the film.
In “New Moon,” Jacob (who Lautner played in “Twilight) plays the leading man role in the absence of Edward (Pattinson) — the love interest of main character, Bella.
Since its release on November 21, “Twilight” has grossed over $140 million, nearly quadrupling its $37 million budget.

and i hate the idea of replacing him
but i am open minded because i believe in following the pattern in stephanie’s book i guess he needs to fit the height…but honestly seeing him would surpass the whole jacob growth spert …blah blah blah…i am interested in the acting…because honestly i disliked kristen….

i think taylor is hot and he is perfect for jacob.i read all the twilight books and i wouldnt mind at all if they keep taylor and ditch the whole growing and muscle stuff because replacing with a new actor just makes me so mad.especilly if its for one little reason.
and i dout they spend so much money on edward that they cant afford taylor.you know how people adzagerate. taylor needs to be there for the rest of the twilight movies because from here on out,jacob is important to the whole story.especially with renesmee coming.(if they do eclipce and breaking dawn which i soooooo hope they do)and another thing,if they cant pay for jacob,how are they going to pay for a new actor,and the rest of the wolf pack that wasnt in twilight.this is just dumb and they need to keep taylor.
oh,does anyone know who is playing renesmee if they do a movie for brreaking dawn?
(i am a girl who loves the twilight saga more than any other book or movie i’ve seen and loves wolves too,so,i hope stephanie finishes midnight sun and everything does right!)

I certainly hope not im like IN LOVE with Taylor, and im sure the rest of America is also. But i heard that he wasnt coming back because the directer said that Taylor wasnt mature enough to be Jacob in New Moon! I HOPE THATS JUST A RUMOR FOR THREE MAIN REASONS.
1. I love Taylor, hes a great actor.
2.He shaves his hair in the second one, he looks better without the wig. NO OFFENCE BECAUSE HE’S GORGEOUS EITHER WAY

Okay, what I don’t get is why Rob is getting paid so much. Edward’s not really a big part of New Moon.
And I absolutely HATE it when an actor is changed in the middle of a series. Takes away, the realism, if you will, of the movie. It’s like, I wouldn’t want to be replaced as Karee–if that made sense? x]

but i have to agree with the smaller group of people who think that jacob should be replaced after finally becoming a werewolf. taylor’s not going to go through some abnormal werewolfy growth spurt any time soon and if they wanna go by the book, well ya.
