E! Online announced Wednesday that Taylor Lautner, the actor who played Jacob in “Twilight,” will be reprising the role for the upcoming sequel, “New Moon.”
There had been some speculation Lautner would not return and instead be recast with an older actor.
“Twilight” director Catherine Hardwicke was not as lucky, and has been replaced by Chris Weitz.
Weitz has allegedly been casting “Italian vampires” and will be filming in Italy, which gives credence to the rumor that the Twilight saga’s Italian vampire clan, the Volturi, will be included in the film adaptation of‚ “New Moon.”

I’m happy that Taylor is going to me Jacob in new moon! But I am still all the way TEAM EDWARD! I love Robert Pattinson! He is gorgeous and even though Taylor has a bigger role in new moon Robert is still going to be dazzaling!

i don’t care what you think of of lautner (personally i thought he portrayed his character the best out of the other actors in the movie) (not that they did bad, his jacob was how i thought jacob would act) but it would be insanely stupid if they changed up the cast list at all. i hate when movies do that and we’re just supposed to go with the change even though we’ve already got a face in our heads.
P.S. how do you know he’s a loser? ever met him? …. didn’t think so.
I think Taylor Lautner is sooo much better than michael copon for jacob and I’m glad they chose taylor over him. But, I would have went with Steven Strait as jacob because he fits the role much better as the older jacob. Also Taylor is only like 5 foot 6 and jacob’s supposed to be 6 foot 6! So how are they gonna do that? Anyway I don’t think it really mattered if it was taylor or steven anyways because new moon’s gonna be way awesome with whoever they picke. I still love Robert Pattinson more though because he’s really hot and has a british accent!!! I love him so much and he’s mine. At least that’s what I tell myself 🙂
yeah i agree it will be hard for taylor to portray a HUMONGOUS dude. if they werent gonna go with taylor, i think they should’ve picked the guy that played the fire dude from “Sky High” warren peace? yeah he’d also be good but im so glad they chose taylor!!! TEAM JACOB!!!!! woot woot

i think taylor as jacob is fine..as for is size, well if they use the same techniques that were used on “Lord of the Rings” then they can pull off his 6’7″ height, besides they have to CGI the werewolves anyway.

I didn’t like Jacobs character, however I still love all of the books. Its such an addiction. After watching Twilight I found it hard to not like Jacob though. But I am Edward all the way.
