A new set of allegations against Herman Cain involve more than just a quick tryst, but a 13 year affair.

Atlanta businesswoman Ginger White said on Monday that she and the presidential candidate were involved in an affair that ended right before Cain announced his bid for the presidency, according to USA Today.  She told Fox 5 in Atlanta that she met Cain in the late ’90s.

White provided WAGA-TV with phone records that show 61 calls or text messages from one number that she claims is Cain’s private cell phone number. When the reporter texted the number, Herman Cain called him back.

“It wasn’t complicated. I was aware that he was married. And I was also aware I was involved in a very inappropriate situation, relationship,” White said to WAGA-TV.

Cain denied the allegations during a CNN interview an hour before the interview with the supposed mistress was set to air.  He called the allegations part of “dirty politics and smear tactics,” reports USA Today.

White told WAGA-TV about the affair, describing it as “fun,” and saying he would fly her to different locations around the country for a rendezvous.

Cain would give White copies of his books with personal inscriptions, one of which allegedly says “Friends are forever! Everything else is a bonus.”

The woman said Cain never treated her disrespectfully, like the other women who claim they had contact with the candidate have alleged.  White said she planned to keep the affair a secret, but was bothered by how he handled the sexual harassment allegations.

“It bothered me that they were being demonized, sort of, they were treated as if they were automatically lying, and the burden of proof was on them,” White said, according to USA Today. “I felt bad for them.”
