A total of seven recently former employees of Modern Warfare 2 studio Infinity Ward have joined fired bosses Jason West and Vince Zampella at the duo’s newly formed, Electronic Arts-label studio, Respawn Entertainment.

According to G4, Former lead designer Mackey McCandlish, programmer Jon Shiring, software engineer Rayme Vinson, lead animator Mark Grisby, lead environmental artist Chris Cherubini, lead animator John Paul Messerly and lead designer Todd Alderman have all left Infinity Ward for Respawn Entertainment.

Respawn, formed weeks ago, is an independent studio that signed a deal with the EA Partners program to exclusively publish and distribute globally whatever game they’re working on.

Activision remains steadfast in believing the Call of Duty brand will live on, and plans to release 3 Call of Duty titles in the next two years.

I hope Respawn works out well. I wonder what they’re going to work on.
