Activision updated the Band Hero song list today putting Hillary Duff and Jesse McCartney next to Styx and the Counting Crows.

Don’t believe it? Believe it! It’s true. Band Hero from Activision, however you measure it, has the most varied setlist in a music-game we’ve ever seen or ever hope to see.

Finally they’re making a band game with good songs on it. All the other Guitar Hero games and also Rock Band for the most part all just have metal songs or classic rock. This type of music is boring and is just a bunch of guitar players showing off riffing skills. The songs in this game are actually good and fun to play, especially with friends. They will finally be songs that everyone recognizes and like instead of stupid screamo crap.

I will admist some of the music on this game will be good….others, well, will probably wrench my stomach trying to get through. I will agree that the screamo crap is irritating, and I cant stand it myself. However, being a fan of good metal, Lengends of Rock, and GH Metallica so far have been and are the best. Now only if they can get Megadeth and Iced. Putting one of tese guys in place of spice girls will be a great start.
