The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild will have day one DLC when the game launches on March 3.

Nintendo outlined their plans for downloadable content for their flagship title on the new Nintendo Switch. Folks who purchase the Expansion Pass for $19.99 will have access to three new treasure chests on launch day, which include special items and clothing. In the summer of 2017, the next piece of content will drop that includes a “brand new hard mode” and a “new Cave of Trials challenge.” Finally, the second piece of DLC will be a new story segment and dungeon. The DLC will not be available separately.

The Expansion Pass will be available for both the Nintendo Switch and Wii U versions of the game.

While it does feel strange that Nintendo is tacking on a season pass to what is sure to be a massive single player experience, it is understandable that they would conform to the already existing standards of game development. Just because they are legendary and shrouded in nostalgia does not mean they can’t enjoy monetizing their games post-launch.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild will release alongside the Nintendo Switch on March 3.
