2014-09-09_22-38-02Apple kept the world waiting in anxious anticipation for their Apple Live Event announcements about the new iPhone, Apple Pay system, and Apple Watch.

Apple CEO Tim Cook and Senior Vice President Phil Schiller finally took to the stage today to introduce the world to these new features.

Cook excitedly announced that the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus are going to be the best iPhones yet. The iPhone 6 will have a 4.7-inch screen, which is a step-up from the iPhone 5’s 4-inch screen. The iPhone 6 Plus will have a 5.5-inch screen with special features like a horizontal 2-up display and a keyboard with more keys that make it easier than ever to cut and paste.

The new iPhones will take clearer, high-tech videos that give you the chance to let your creative filmmaking side run wild. The iPhone 6 will be available in gold, silver, and space grey and starts at $199. The iPhone 6 Plus starts at $299.

One of the biggest announcements of the day was about Apple Pay. Both Cook and Schiller excitedly talked about this feature that allows Apple users to pay with a credit card right from their iPhones. You take a picture of your credit card with your iPhone camera, go to your bank to verify the card, and add it to the passbook. Each time you make pay for a purchase, you get a one-time payment number with a dynamic security code.

Apple will have no information about what you buy, where you shop, or how much you pay for an item. They simply will serve as the catalyst for this new payment system that does not require you to enter information about your card’s expiration date or your billing address. Top retailers are already starting to add Apple Pay and others are expected to follow soon. For right now, it only works with in the U.S. with American Express, Visa, and MasterCard. If the system is successful, Apple plans to expand.

The Apple Watch will be available in Watch, Watch Sport, and Watch Edition so everyone has the opportunity to choose one for their needs. From telling time to communicating with your friends, this smart watch hopes to make it easier than ever to utilize technology to simplify your life.
