CI Games recently sent us their first gameplay video of their upcoming RPG, Lords of the Fallen. It’s seven minutes long, so grab the popcorn and soda and check it out:

The game has been under development since 2011, so there’s a lot riding on it. The game’s combat engine appears to combine elements of Elder Scrolls and God of War, with a deep combat system meant to discourage button mashing and encourage patience and strategy — they say the game tries to create a sense of having a duel in every fight.

From the developer: Lords of the Fallen is an action-RPG from CI Games set in a medieval fantasy world ruled by a Fallen God where players will fight against the formidable Lords and Generals that command his demonic army. Lords of the Fallen places a heavy emphasis on combat skill and persistence, challenging players to hone their abilities with a multitude of weapons, armor character upgrades and supernatural abilities. Lords of the Fallen aims to slash, stab, bludgeon, burn, freeze and/or pummel its way into the dark hearts of masochistic gamers everywhere later this year on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.

CI Games has been busy lately. They have “Lords” coming out later this year, and a WWII shooter called Enemy Front under development.
