She’s done it again. Earlier this month, the New Zealand singer released a music video for her song “Team” and her fans flooded to Vevo to watch it. So many people tried to watch it that the site couldn’t handle the traffic, prompting Lorde to tweet: “Omg you crashed vevo! I think you’re all overloading the video. Let it breathe!”.

By now, one wouldn’t be surprised if the 17-year old were used to the attention. After all, 2013 was a great year for her. Lorde dropped her first studio album, Pure Heroine, in September and a Live in Concert EP in November. Now she’s up for four Grammys, against artists like Katy Perry, Justin Timberlake, and Lana Del Rey.

But Lorde manages to keep her humor as she rockets to stardom, including tweeting, “someone give all these adults the gift of shock therapy so they stop using their precious energy h8ing me this christmas #acerbictuesdays”. We can only hope that these adults leave Lorde alone so that she can have an even better year in 2014.
