The Grammy award-winning, singer/songwriter has just announced that she will be releasing a new album in early 2014. This new album will be released by Sony Music Entertainment and marks Shakira’s first album with RCA Records/Sony Latin Iberia.

On September 1, the singer posted on her facebook page: “Amazing day in the studio! 2 years and I finally feel in these songs as comfortable as in my torn jeans”

Sony’s executives seem equally excited for the album. Afo Verde, Chairman and CEO for Sony’s Latin Region, Spain and Portugal, said, “Shakira is a unique, brilliant artist. She spreads the spirit of Latin culture around the world. It is an honor and a privilege to work with her, and together with our colleagues from RCA, to continue bringing her music to fans around the world.

This new album will be Shakira’s tenth, though she’s taken a bit of a break since her last album, Sale el Sol, which was released in 2010. Since then, she’s been a vocal coach on the NBC television show, The Voice. Though Shakira was replaced by Christina Aguilera during the fifth season, she will be back on the show for season six. And don’t worry fans, if early 2014 is too vague of a time for you, Shakira’s first single featuring Rihanna is slated to be released this January.
