Pokémon X and Y will be coming out this October, but Japan is also getting another helping of Pokémon this fall when Pokémon: The Origin makes its debut. The anime will air on October 2 as a special broadcast and feature characters from the original Game Boy games Pocket Monsters Red and Green (that’s Pokémon Red and Blue outside Japan.) You’ll still see all the classic Pokémon like Charmander and Geodude, but Ash has been replaced by Red from the games.

This October also marks the start of the Pokémon X and Y arc in the normal Pokémon anime, so it’ll be interesting to see how many episodes we’ll get of The Origin.
