Power pop group Fun. hit Boston’s Orpheum Theatre last week, just one of a string old sold-out shows on their US tour supported by Andrew McMahon of Jack’s Mannequin. Soon they’ll head overseas, making their way through Japan, Australia, and Europe until June.

Andrew McMahon opened with many well-loved Jack’s Mannequin hits and also introduced new songs off his new EP Learn to Dance,  scheduled to drop next month.

Fun. performed with seemingly limiteless energy, captivating the audience from the moment they stepped out on stage. Vocalist Nate  Ruess’ vocals soared, matching note for note his skilled performances on their monstrously popular latest record. They saved their biggest hits for last, wrapping up with “Some Nights,” “We Are Young,” and finally closing with “Stars”.

If you’ve missed this latest US run, fear not – you can catch them on their recently announced Most Nights tour this summer, supported by indie duo Tegan and Sara. In the meantime, of course, you can catch their performance on the Grammy Awards this Sunday.
