Variety has confirmed rumors that The Office and Hangover star Ed Helms will play a grown-up Rusty Griswold in the upcoming Vacation sequel/reboot. The new film will be scripted by  John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein (Horrible Bosses) and be produced by David Dobkin.

Expected to begin production next year after Helms wraps production on The Hangover 3 and The Office, the latest in the long running comedy franchise will see Helm’s Rusty take his family on a trouble-laden vacation just as his father did before him.

Rumors suggest that Chevy Chase and Beverly D’Angelo will reprise their roles as Clark and Ellen Griswold, but the article makes no mention of either.
