There’s a reason our clients at Hire a Boston WingWoman have to read the Terms and Conditions before going out with the WingWoman.  We are not held responsible if you choose to meet someone like this guy.

A 49-year-old Oregon woman was just awarded $900,000 after she claimed a 69-year-old retired dentist, who she met on eHarmony, infected her with genital herpes.

I agree with the jury, the woman is 25 percent responsible, and the man who gave her herpes without warning is 75 percent responsible.  On her part, she asked him to put a condom on, he didn’t.  So she knew he wasn’t wearing one, and in this day and age, you can’t trust anyone.

The guy knowingly gave her herpes though, and that’s what we can all agree was malicious.  It has changed her life drastically in many ways, and he is to blame.  Was it the heat of the moment?  Probably.  It makes me think, how much would someone get if they received oral herpes on a date?  Should the person say “wait, before I kiss you, ..you should know I have oral herpes that comes back every once in a while.”

Here comes the lecture:  Online or not, you have no idea what kinds of people are out there.  Nowadays you can internet-stalk someone and see if they’re “normal” or not. There are even guide books on how to investigate your date, such as conducting criminal checks, verifying their employment, and scour property records!  In “InvestiDate: How to Investigate Your Date,” Coder shares 36 questions to help you speed up the “get-to-know-someone” process.   Hopefully the person you’re dating doesn’t just tell you what you want to hear!
