LOS ANGELES — It’s called E3-itis, and it effects all of us. Medically it’s described as the lack of remembering that we may not see some of these fantastic games displayed during the annual game conference for a while due to excitement. The cure for E3-itis? PR reps and executives giving us the truth.

In a not so subtle way, Sony has confirmed that two of its most anticipated games from this year’s show, The Last of Us from Naughty Dog and God of War:  Ascension won’t be hitting shelves this year, but are expected to hit in 2013.

“We are not ready to talk about 2013. But some of the games we showed like God of War and The Last of Us are not coming out this year,” Sony’s Shuhei Yoshida told website VG247.

Drown your sorrows in the ahem…”mind blowing” gameplay reveal of both The Last of Us and God of War: Ascension.
