Rumor has it that Apple has been testing a smaller, 7.85 inch model of the iPad. This size change would be contrary to the late Steve Jobs’ opposition.
Apple blogger, John Gruber, said that the company is “kind of noodling” with the smaller iPad, and that the reduced size might appeal to markets overseas, especially Asian countries. The smaller tablets would be more convenient for commuters, though they would not necessarily have the same retina-quality display that the recently new iPad and iPhone have.
