A trailer for Capcom’s Lost Planet 3 was leaked earlier today, with the company recently making the official announcement.

The game will be developed by Spark Interactive, known for their less than stellar projects Turning Point: Fall of Liberty and Legendary.

Details released by Capcom claim that the game will be a prequel to the previous entries and will feature a mix of first and third person combat. The use of climate as a gameplay element returns, as you will not be able to withstand the frozen tundra of the environment for too long.

Below are screens shown by Capcom at last month’s Captivate event in Rome.

The game is headed to Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 in “early 2013.”
