J.K. Rowling, the first billionaire author, created a worldwide phenomenon when she created the world of Harry Potter, that went from books to the big screen and everything else in between. And anytime Rowling’s chooses to speak, Potterheads and assorted Muggles everywhere stop and listen to the woman who made them believe in magic.

In a brand new venture, Rowling’s announced via YouTube (see below) that she has a new, interactive website called Pottermore. The new site will offer a number of features such as e-books, and per Rowling, “additional information I’ve been hoarding for years.”

Though you can’t access the site as of yet, it will be a blend of social networking as well as have a game-like element to it. The site won’t go live until October, but some lucky folks will be allowed to pre-register before everyone else. How? Well the way it works is that there will be a challenge, “follow the owl,” that is to begin July 31.

The first million fans to finish shall be granted early entrance to the site. How amazing is that? All you have to do to get ready for this challenge is submit you email to the site. No wands required. Well as far as we know.
