A Massachusetts State Police trooper was hit by a vehicle and seriously hurt Tuesday morning in a suspected hit-and-run in South Boston, State Police siad.

The trooper, whose name was not released, was struck at Frontage Road and the on-ramp for the eastbound Massachusetts Turnpike.

He was taken to a Boston hospital for treatment. Police are looking for the driver, but no additional details have been released.
