The musical episode of “Grey’s Anatomy” was able to entice fans who had been neglecting the series of late, leading to a 4.8 in the demo, up 33% from last week. Reviews of the show have been mixed, but it seemed to attract viewers.

“American Idol” won the night for Fox as typical, drawing 22 million viewers and a 6.7 demo rating. It helped boost the special “Mobbed,” which drew a 3.8 in the demo and 10.5 million viewers.

“The Big Bang Theory” was strong at 9 pm, with a 3.6 in the demo, but “Rules of Engagement” was very poor, falling to a 2.3 rating — putting it in danger of cancellation in our Renew/Cancel scorecard. “CSI” and “The Mentalist” remained even with recent numbers.

NBC was in repeats for the night.
