A 63-year-old woman was killed Monday in a house fire in the Western Massachusetts city of Chicopee, fire officials said.

The 2 a.m. fire appears to have been electrical in nature, according to a fire department source.

Firefighters forced their way into the home after hearing a person was trapped inside. They found the victim, whose name was not release, but could not revive her.

The Associated Press reported that Acting Chicopee Fire Chief Patrick Halpin said that excessive clutter inside the home slowed rescue efforts.
