Fox has renewed “American Dad,” rounding out its Sunday animation slate for next year. Fellow Seth MacFarlane comedies “Family Guy” and “Cleveland Show” are locks to return/already renewed, as is the “Simpsons.”

“American Dad,” now in its sixth season, has long been the weak link of the Sunday night lineup for Fox, drawing in the high 2.0 demo range for the net, compared to its animation siblings routinely drawing mid-to-high 3.0’s. Earlier this winter, Fox premiered “Bob’s Burger,” which was seen by many as a potential replacement to “American Dad.”

However, “Burger’s” has been an utter failure, and has failed to generate an audience. The renewal of “American Dad” all but spells “Burgers'” cancellation.
