So remember last week when we reported all that news about how dangerous doctors were saying that the 3DS could be for kid’s eyes? Now the American Optometric Association is saying that not only are those reports false, but Nintendo’s new handheld could be beneficial to the eyes of kids. Say what?

According to a statement released by the eye docs, the technology in the 3DS could help diagnose eye problems in children, as it requires both eyes to work together, something that a normal vision test doesn’t check for.

Be warned though, the Association still warns that it’s important to play in moderation, as too much 3D could still hurt even adult’s eyes.
