Ryan Reynolds, 34, and Scarlett Johansson, 26, have separated.
According to People, they commented in a joint statement, “After long and careful consideration on both our parts, we’ve decided to end our marriage. We entered our relationship with love and it’s with love and kindness we leave it. While privacy isn’t expected, it’s certainly appreciated.”
It was reported that Johansson initiated the split. Ironically, last month, Reynolds was named as the People’s sexiest man alive and commented that marriage life was “You get to hang out with your best buddy every day.”
The couple had a private ceremony surrounded by their close family and friends back in September 2008 in Reynolds’ hometown, Vancouver.
