The Boston City Council voted to expel Chuck Turner on Wednesday afternoon.

Only Councilor Charles Yancey, a stalwart Turner supporter, voted against removal in the 11-1 Council vote.

Turner was recently convicted on federal bribery and corruption charges and his removal was anticipated as many councilors had already called for Turner’s resignation.
