NEW YORK — A woman died in a fast moving fire that tore through a house on Staten Island on Friday, according to the US Fire Administration, which records all fire deaths.

The woman was asleep in the top floor attic of the house and was overcome. She was found around 6:30 a.m. in the three-story home on Morningstar Road. She died at Richmond University Medical Center.

The New York Daily News identified her as Dorothy Adonolfi, 40.

No one else was hurt.

The FDNY believes the fire was caused by an electric heater.
