The MSPCA rescued 101 cats, one turtle, and one dog from two Greater Boston-area households last week, all in a two-day period.

The cats were brought to the MSPCA Boston Animal Care and Adoption Center, where they remain quarantined due to their illnesses, which include ruptured eyes, chronic sinus infections, and extreme malnourishment.

MSPCA spokesman Brian Adams said that the organization is working to transfer healthy cats to other adoption centers in order to make room for the neglected cats.

“We continue to urge pet owners to contact our adoption centers and law enforcement department before they can no longer provide basic care for their animals,” Adams said.
