Officials will celebrate the opening of new transit hub in Warwick, R.I. next week as plans come together to ultimately link T.F. Green Airport with commuter rail service running out of Boston.
A ribbon cutting ceremony will occur on Wednesday with Rhode Island Governor Don Carcieri and congressmen at the airport’s InterLink Transportation Facility, according to the Associates Press.
The project will connect planes, trains, and automobiles in the form of buses at the chief airport in Rhode Island.
The Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority will run commuter rail service from Boston, to Providence, to Green starting this fall.
This is a quarter-billion-dollar project that has been going on for almost 20 years.
