Recently, the Massachusetts Convention Center Authority signed an agreement that will bring the Penny Arcade Expo (a.k.a. PAX East), back to Boston for at least the next three years.

This past March, PAX East was held at the Hynes Convention Center in Boston, and drew nearly 60,000 people. It was also the first time that the event was ever held outside of Seattle, where PAX is based. The event was such an obvious success, that for 2011 through 2013, it’s been booked at the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center.

“Bringing PAX East back to Boston is a huge win for Boston and the Commonwealth, allowing us to continue to showcase the diversity of our technology scene and the international talent of our city’s game developers,” authority executive director James E. Rooney said in a statement. “We’re thrilled to host PAX through 2013, and we can’t wait to welcome the show to the BCEC in 2011.”
