Christian Karl Gerhartsreitter, the man who kidnapped his daughter in Boston and led police on a coastal chase that ended in Baltimore, lost a superior court appeal Tuesday.

Gerhartsreitter, who told authorities his name was Clark Rockefeller, appealed his four- to five-year prison sentence stemming from his conviction last summer for kidnapping his daughter over a custody battle with his former wife.

Superior Court Justices Barbara Dortch-Okara, Wendie Gershengorn, and Peter Lauriat, who comprise the Appellate Division of the Superior Court, decided quickly Tuesday morning not to amend or change the sentence.
