Have you ever wanted to own a piece of history … Playboy history that is?

This year marks the 50th anniversary of the Playboy Clubs and the Playboy Bunnies. As a way to commemorate this special occasion Playboy is making the iconic Bunny costume available to the public for the very first time.

The limited-edition Bunny inspired lingerie set includes a sexy corset, bow tie collar, bunny ears, bunny tail, and cuffs.

"The original Bunny costume, worn by more than 25,000 working Playboy Bunnies over the years, was created for female staff at the first Playboy Club in Chicago (which opened to the public on February 29, 1960) and started as a modified one-piece swimsuit," said Abi O’Donnell, Publicist of Playboy Enterprises, Inc. "The Bunny costume, recognizable for its satin bodice, cotton tail and rabbit ears, went on to become the first uniform to be issued a trademark registration by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office."

Prior to launching their careers as actresses Lauren Hutton, Sherilyn Fenn, Lynne Moody, Barbara Bosson, Julie Cobb, Jackie Zeman, Maria Richwine, and Susan Sullivan all worked as Playboy Bunnies. Even rocker Deborah Harry of Blondie was a Bunny.

"This new set is one of many products that will be launched this year to celebrate the 50th anniversary. Other commemorative products that have been created include: a line of vintage-inspired Bunny tee shirts, special edition glassware, and "The Hef" loveseat," said O’Donnell.

All merchandise will be available online at playboyclubstore.com as well as retail outlets, including Urban Outfitters.
