A room full of Microsoft Xbox Live enforcement officials filled the Manticore Theater today at PAX East in Boston. They talked from A to Z about Xbox Live policy, but most of it was mundane and nothing more than stuff we already know.

However, the officials did comment on the recent overturning of the Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and Transgender policy. Previously, users were not allowed to declare themselves part of the GLBT community on their profiles.

They did say they regretted the policy and that something secret is in the works.

"We had a misguided policy. I am very happy we’ve made that change" and added that "we’re working on some cool stuff, that I can’t talk about."

What cool stuff could that statement be alluding to? Your guess is as good as, or probably better than, mine.

The panel concluded with a statement of acceptance.

“We respect diversity on our service.”

That’s something I can get behind.
